Coaching and HR Consulting
Hi, I'm MEGAN
(pronounced Meegan)…
Professional Coach | Leadership Development facilitator |
executive HR Consultant
I live with the idea that we (humans) are here not just to survive but to thrive. And a big part of our life is our professional experience. My work is about helping professionals to be empowered in their career (and life), leaders to be the most impactful versions of themselves and organizations to create great workplaces. I am passionate about my mission to create a ripple effect of better workplaces and happier, healthier people.
Prior to starting my coaching and consulting business, I worked as an HR executive, and for the last 10 years of my career in the corporate realm, I led the HR function across Canada as National Director of Human Resources for one of the world’s largest law firms. My mandate included leading HR strategy through every stage of organizational change and challenge imaginable: from acquiring other firms, combining with an international entity, to pivoting HR strategy through the recession of 2008. I have envisioned and executed programs related to performance management, learning & development, culture, automation of HR operations and employer branding. External achievements include earning BC Top Employer status for several consecutive years. Having grown and refined my professional experience around lawyers, I could not have had a better education in effectively solving business problems and pivoting strategy - skills that serve me well in my current work as a coach and consultant across multiple industries.
Beyond my professional experience, I am a committed lifelong learner, and regularly partake in ongoing education related to advanced leadership, professional coaching, mental health awareness, psychological safety and mindfulness studies.
I am an active contributor in leadership, women’s leadership and HR professional communities. I keep my communication skills sharp with witty banter honed through my membership with Toastmasters.
My professional results and experience speak for themselves. But there is much more to me than that.
I believe that how we interact with other humans, in the big and small ways, every day, really matters. I think laughter is the best medicine and I do it often. I strive for results in business and in life, but I seek fun at the same time. I live with a curiosity and passion for living my best life and I want the same for others.
When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2020, I experienced one of the scariest times of my life. But it also allowed me time to slow down and reflect. It was after completion of cancer treatments and return to good health that I decided to commit to my mission of influencing a better way of work through independent coaching and consulting.
The quote that inspires me everyday
“Tell me what is it you will do with your one wild and precious life.”
